Still tired of coteries and bans. But hanging about anyway.

I've been impressed by Royal Mail - my high school sent me a newsletter after I sent them an email about my address having changed and it got here fine.

You don't think that's impressive?

They adressed it to

my name
my street
my town, my postcode
CANADA

and it got here in England, a week after they mailed it from Massachusetts.  ;D

That's smart of them!  I have a couple stories about something similar

1- last Christmas my brother-in-law and sis-in-law moved from Portland OR to Independence OR
I mailed them a package with the correct address but the old city and zip code!
And it still got there - somehow the Portland post office figured it out, crossed out Portland and wrote Independence and the right zip code!

2- my sister mailed me a letter when I was living in India.  she wrote the address all fine but then wrote the city and not INDIA on it.  It got returned to her stating "what country?"   ;D

once again, on behalf of DF, a 13-year veteran of parcel force, apologies all around :P

I had never had any problem with Royal Mail. . . until. . . last week, I logged-in to my bank account only to learn that British Gas had decided to take over £200 from our account.  They swore up-and-down that the bill had been generated and posted.  They even re-issued another copy of it and mailed it to us for our records.  What happened to the original notification?!  Methinks it fell victim to the elves that invade the Royal Mail depots when no one is looking.
