fiance visa mortage/lease
« on: February 04, 2006, 12:41:30 PM »
Hello everyone I'm currently gathering some documents to get ready to apply for a fiance visa.  My question is, being the sponser do you have to have the lease papers to send in?  Could I send in recent bills or some other sort of proof that I'm renting out a place?  Also, can most the documents be photocopied instead of sending in the original?  Thanks, you have a great site.

If you don't have a physical lease, a letter from your landlord/owner giving permission will do. I had a letter from the owner/landlord granting permission plus a copy of his title deed showing proof of ownership. Get as many items in the original as you can. Some things can be photocopied, such as the sponsor's passport if they're not present, but make sure every page is copied and certified.

If it is only your name on the lease, you need a letter fromt he landlord giving permission for your fiancee to stay there too.
