Has anyone flown their pets to the UK on BMI??
« on: February 05, 2006, 03:05:11 AM »
I live in Chicago and the only two carriers to the UK for pets are BA and BMI.  I've chosen BMI because its cheaper ($300) and that way I can fly directly to Manchester and then only have an hour flight to my final destination of Glasgow :)
For my 18lb dog it will cost me around $550.  I'm really nervous about it though (the whole pet scheme and wondering if my dog will have to go into quarantine..he's my baby!)

I can't offer you practical advice because I brought my cat over in 2003 and things have changed quite a bit since then. But I can tell you not to worry. So many of us have brought our babies over and we've all stressed out about it. But you have to trust that the airlines, DEFRA, etc. all know what they're doing. Your dog will be absolutely fine and he'll have forgotten all about his drama as soon as you're reunited with him! :)
