Now I have to find a place that has the Hauck and test it out.  I'm 5'9" and Rich is 6', so we need something that will suit us both.  Are the handles on most adjustable?

I honestly don't remember.  I'm thinking they don't, but I could be wrong.  Sorry, not much help. :-\\\\

Are you going to be going on the bus alot with the pram?  I've been thinking a lot about that.  I don't take it much but in case I do I have a sling I finally bought on Ebay (It's so great!) from a woman who makes them herself.  I figure I can take him on the bus that way.  Of course I'd be worried no one would get up and give me a seat then.  I've seen it happen too many times here :-\\\\

yeah, the bus thing sounds like a total nightmare. i'm only now starting to think about all this stuff and am defo worried about carting around a big, giant stroller. i know i always get really irritated at people using those giant SUV-like strollers around town.

could you post a pic or url of the sling you bought?

I have the Bugaboo and bought it not knowing what it was or how stinking popular it was about to become. It was expensive but to be honest it's been worth it's weight in GOLD. It moves over any surface like a dream, it has an excellent suspension system so it basically glides, keeping the ride and the push very comfortable. My daughter is now 18mths and I've just ordered a smaller stroller for quick trips in and out of the car. I was going to sell the Bugaboo in light of that but have decided to hang on to it as it's great if we go to any festivals, long days out on the cobble streets of Manchester, just anything longer than a hour trip. It's pretty light for it's size and collapses very quickly and easily, there is however a knack to it. I was talking to a girl yesterday who had a 2 wk old in a brand new bugaboo, since I bought mine I noticed on hers that the handle is now adjustable to ones height which is really useful for dad's pushing it. In short it's worth the money, it was actually engineered by a Doctor and an engineer to be ergonomically correct they did a good job. This pram can definately last through 2 even 3 babies, so if you spread the cost out that way, then it actually works out to be very economical. It's just the initial sticker shock that's a little frightening. If you have any more questions just ask away.

I can imagine it's a great Pram from every single mother and nanny on the Upper East Side pushing one :P  Which of course is why I wanted one.  Now of course since I hate going with the crowd I am against it.

But, it does sound great, especially if it maneuvers that well.  Question, did it come with anything?  Or is it just the basic pram?  I'm also thinking another baby will come soon after this one and then I will need a double.  To spend that much and not have room for the new one would not be good.

In case people are curious as to what they look like:

I'm going off what I paid, it may have changed. For 499 you get the 'basic pram' which includes, carry cot, stroller, mosquito net, rain cover, I think that's it. Everything else is an add on, parasel, cozy toes, bag clips, car seat and car seat adaptors. I think all in all my bill was just over 700. It still looks and performs just as good as when it was brand new.

Just to add we've taken this pram everywhere, through country fields, on the beach, literally right to the ocean through the sand with the baby in it.

I think there must be discount places that sell them cheaper judging by the number of people I see with them, and not always well to do people if you know what I mean.

I push our Graco travel system stroller a mile to and from school each day--going over some very bumpy cobble stone streets, up and over curbs, etc.  It is now on it's third kid---although it is starting to wobble and creak!  I think it will fall apart one of these days on the way to school.  I notice that the other mothers have much more durable strollers that I'm sure they paid a pretty price for.  I keep an umbrella stroller in the back of my car.  I like to use it when I'm doing any shopping because I can get it in and out of stores and through tight spaces relatively easy.  Hope this helps.  Good luck!
