LOL. Jon likes it as well. And thank god, he was eating that plastic quorn (sorry!) bacon and when he cooked it, it smelled like burning plastic and stunk the whole house up.

I have to agree, some Quorn is flavorless and blah, but once you season it, it's not too bad. Like the mince, it's gross on its own, but I put it in my spaghetti and sprinkle cheese on it and it's great. There is a better tasting mince than Quorn, unfortunately the brand name escapes me at the moment.

Geeta I know a few places in London that do a good veggie roast option on Sundays, what area are you in?

Oooh cool I live near the City (Tower Hamlets) but basically can go anywhere...especially for good food!  I know Eat and Two Veg does a Sunday lunch and I have yet to go there on a Sunday but it's on my list.  I love that place!  So much to choose from for us vegs...

Ok well bearing in mind I moved away from London nearly a year ago (so you should ring & check before you go ...) The Princess of Wales pub in Primrose Hill/Camden does a great nut roast AND you get to listen to a great jazz band while you eat!  and the Hemingford Arms in Islington also does a good veggie roast - sometimes it's a Quorn roast, sometimes a homemade nut roast, depends who's cooking I think.  Lots of pubs in London do have a veg option, but you sometimes have to ask.

Have you tried the veggie pasties? I have had the cheese and onion, and df has another veggie one all the time...I know its not the traditional pasty with meat, but they are soooo yummy, we'd get them from a little shop in the city centre in Bath when I would accompany df for the day :)

Yes they are very good - the best I have had is at this little pie shop in Greenwich - I think it is relatively well known.  They do a cheese and onion and then a special soya chunks one which was amazing...ok I am hungry now, have to have dinner! :D

Yum...I LOVE those too.  Glad to know I'm not the only one who can eat an entire package of them  ::)

I miss Morningstar, too.  And Amy's ready meals.  And Garden of Eatin'.  And Silk.

And just the entire Whole Foods in general.

Amy's burritos rocked, too.

Sooo easy just to pop over to Whole Foods on the way home from work and pick up a quick ready meal and a bag of Garden of Eatin' blue corn chips and salsa for snack.

Morningstar Farms "Riblets" are also worth a mention. My husband (who prides himself on his bbqing ability and his general love of meat) loved those things, though I was never allowed to tell anyone that he ate them. I don't think they make anything that tastes bad. . . .

By the way, I just saw nayonaise here (Aberdeen) the other day in a specialty store. They also had Burt's Bees skin products, which really made me happy!
