Thanks Maple! The wait must have rattled your nerves. I know it's rattling mine, and it's only been a couple of weeks!

...though in my case, it's not so much the wait as it is the fact that there is absolutely no way for you to check the status of your application. But I guess even if there was a way to check, the status would probably just say "processing" for 4, 5, 6, 11 months.  ::)

The other thing I remember is emailing the GSCC, at about maybe week 18 and they responded quickly and seemed to process it then. I'd wait to write to them after the official timescales have passed.

Hello all!

I have a job interview set for the beginning of March. It is to work in Coventry. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about Coventry and the life there. Also, I see that Birmingham is not far from there so I wondering how that city is as well.

Does anyone work in either of those cities?

Thanks!

You might also want to post about Birmingham and Coventry in the Housing section, so that you can find / discuss issues with people who live there.

Best of luck for your interview!

Gyladene,
I registered with the GSCC last year at about this time and I was amazed by the turnaround time.  Including mail time (to and from the UK) they had processed my application and had it back in my hands within a matter of like three weeks.

I emailed them a couple of times too to make sure they had received the application and they were always very prompt and helpful when responding.

Good luck!

Hello all!

Has anyone ever used Synergy recruitment agency? If so, could you tell me about your experience with them...the good, the bad, and the ugly....*Smile*

Thanks!

Afraizer - thanks for the input! If your turnaround was that quick, then perhaps I'll send GSCC an email, not to check the status, really, but at least to ensure they received the package.

Maple - Interesting articles. I wonder how many people are going to take them up on their offer? I'm glad there are educational and experience requirements for that cash incentive, otherwise, with the economy being the way it is at the moment, there would probably be loads of unqualified individuals trying to take advantage of the offer.

Veronica - No experience with Synergy on my end. But if I hear anything I'll pass on the word.

Hi Veronica, I am going to the same interview in March for Coventry Council with  Synergy Group. Email me at son25anthony@gmail.com, I would love to talk more about it with you. I am nervous but looking forward to the interview.

How many slots is Synergy looking to fill for Coventry? I wish I could interview, but traveling to interviews isn't quite in my budget right now.

Also, I received a confirmation letter from GSCC in the mail today! So at least now I know they received my application packet. Hurrah! :)

Sony, you might get spam or something if you leave your email address in your post. I'd just PM Veronica the information.
