Gift Baskets in the UK?
« on: November 26, 2003, 10:16:25 PM »
I am still in the US but have business associates in London. I'd like to send nice gift baskets for the holidays--can anyone recommend some good online sources for such baskets?

Thanks in advance, and Happy Thanksgiving  ;D

Just so you know, if you do some searches online, gift baskets are called "hampers" over here... which just makes me feel like I'm sending someone dirty laundry...  ;)

Thanks for the links, NYState_of_Mind--lots of good options there, so I should be good to go. Much appreciated!

And thanks, collington, for the tip about vocabulary. I was wondering why there only seemed to be about three places that came up when I Googled "gift baskets"/London...now I'm armed and ready for holiday season 2004  :D

Depending on how much you're wanting to spend or what you want to send....the owner of our firm sends everyone a hamper from Sainsbury's http://www.sainsburys.co.uk which has a really nice selection of food and wine.

There's also an assortment of gift sources that take overseas credit cards on http://www.uk-yankee.com/gifts.php

(The page will be updated soon for this Christmas season, Yankee Doodle has gone out of business.)
