I agree with Victoria.
The two years is not just a residency requirement, it is also a probationary period - and there's no way to get around the probationary period if you did not enter the UK under Paragraph 18.
But, happily for you, it might count for nationality purposes later on. It depends upon when and how you fix your start date for nationality purposes.
