It does say on one site that a copy is ok this is from an immigration site. It also says that if your partner/husband/fiance/e do not have a passport then a full length birth cert is ok also.

Yup thats what I brung since he doesn't have a passport. They call and check the passport office to make sure the birth certificate is indeed valid & he has no passport

How do you know if its a full length birth certificate?  I do have my husband's birth certificate, but I don't know if its full length.   ???

a full length birth certificate has both parents name on them
A short one just says the name and date of birth of the person

Okay, that's the birth certificate I have.  So do you think I'd be okay with just that and the notarized copy of his passport (just the picture page)?

They are likely to want at least every marked page of the passport.
