Hi Guys........ this was sent to us today by our BA account manager...API is Advance Passenger Information..:
This is just from BA but ALL airlines to the USA will require this information..if you are doing a fly drive you just can't put in transit anymore...you HAVE to state the physical address where you will be..any questions just ask!
Dear all
I am writing to remind you that from 7 March 2006, British Airways will be supplying all required API information to the US Authorities.
The additional data now required includes a first night address for each non-US citizen or non-US resident, as well as country of residence.
To avoid delays at check-in, we are urging all passengers to provide their information before they get to the airport. You can input your traveller’s information through your GDS, using the BA or Industry Standard Keywords. Your travellers can also provide their information online at ba.com/mmb
Some passengers may arrive at the airport without having completed their information beforehand. Our airport staff will need to collect the required information from them. Please make your passengers aware if you have collected API information on their behalf. This will enable our staff to direct them to the fastest route through check-in.
Customers will be unable to check in online at ba.com unless the additional information is completed.
For further information about the new rules and regulations, and how to input the information through your GDS, visit batraveltrade.com
Thank you in advance for your assistance
Yours Sincerely
Mike Coe
