I'm making vegetable stock for a cheesy soup tomorrow, which I hope will be better than "meh". (My first attempt at crockpot cookery resulted in a crusty burnt inedible thing, so I suppose I can only go up from there!)

Today I went with cheese sandwich, crisps, and yogurt.

I made a cream of broccoli & cheese soup, and it was...soup.  ::)

Meaning - okay/meh.  I really want to like soup.  :-\\\\  On the bright side, I only had a bowl of it (my skinny DH had two bowls & then some!), because I just wasn't thrilled with it.  I need to like soup, for my waistline, or maybe the fact that I'm not crazy about it is good for my waistline, or something.  :P
Soup again!  Unless a soup has loads of oil, butter, cream, or cheese in it, it is super good for you--high fiber and low fat!  I usually use a bit of olive oil in my soups and that's it fat-wise.

What about tortilla soup? Borsch? French onion? Something slightly more exotic than the usual? Butternut squash soup is great! For me, though, soup is mainly all about the crusty bread, meaning it usually doesn't end up being so good for my waistline.  ;)

Yesterday it was grilled cheese sandwiches with cream of tomato soup.  [smiley=smitten.gif] Now, that is soup I can live with (so long as I get to dip a grilled cheese sandwich in it!  ;)) Today, I'm not sure. I just ate almost an entire big pot of yogurt without realizing it.  :-[ That might end up being lunch!

Leftover broccoli and cheddar soup. It's supposed to be a Panera knock-off, but like I pointed out to DH, it's been so long since we've had Panera's soup that we have no idea if it's identical.  :P It was delicious though!

Do you have a link for the recipe you used? I haven't had broccoli cheese soup in ages and would love to give it a go soon.  :)

Sure! It was dead easy to make. Also, I looked at the comments which suggested putting in some dijion mustard and hot sauce, so I added that when I was adding the cheese. I used a heaping tsp of the mustard and a couple of shakes of tabasco sauce.

Because I have been away for a couple of nights, I didn't have any leftovers- so I popped into tesco this morning to grab some soup. I wanted soup.

So I got some new convent garden witches brew (seasonal) - pumpkin, tomato, and chickpeas, kidney beans and black eyed beans-
Was quite nice considering its from a carton, but now I want to re-create that home because I think I could have some more flavour in there...
