Grilled sirloin steak tips with sauteed peppers and onions, mashed potatoes and roasted sweet potatoes (that whirring sound is Atkins rolling in his grave). It cost me $4.75.

It's a subsidized company canteen and it'll be the death of me. I tried to limit myself to a bowl of soup at first, but you have to walk past the goodies to pay. Now I just give up and make lunch my big meal of the day.

I made a sandwich spread from marinated tofu, grated carrot and red pepper that I whizzed together using the stick blender, on sunflower seed bread with iceberg lettuce. Also had sliced mango and a 9-bar. (And some chocolate, but don't tell!!)

Hey Stoatula, there's a reason Atkins is in his grave! You eat all the taters you want!

I just couldn't get into school lunch today...it was just not for me (another Friday with fried fish & chips)...so I had peas, baked beans, mash potatoes and chocolate milk.  I know...weird!

Salmon tacos, not bad actually.  I was not sure if I would like them at all.

It's chicken finger day! Yayyy! Who can be unhappy on chicken finger day? Not me! With fries and slaw, $4.25. The kitchen doesn't open for an hour and a half, though.

Of course, it's also hot dog and chili day (they make a really fine chili) and clam chowder day. They always do this to me. I'll probably get a bowl of chili or chowder to go and have it for supper.

It's my day off so after my workout I had oven roasted white and sweet potatoes (inspired no doubt by stoatula's lunch!) and watched 'The Last Samurai'. I really love Ken Watanabe!

Chicken fingers always remind me of my grandma, who nearly laughed herself silly the first time in the nursing home that they told her she was going to have chicken fingers for lunch.  (She'd kept chickens before, but never in her life knew that they had fingers!) [smiley=laugh4.gif]
