My (current) vice
« on: March 01, 2006, 10:52:32 AM »
I am so hooked on habas fritas. They're these yummy salty crunchy oven-roasted boad beans from Spain and they're to die for. They're from Olives Et Al, which has some other incredible yummies as well. Has anyone else ever had habas fritas? They sort of remind of me of corn nuts, but better! :)

I haven't had that brand but I got some from Julian Graves a while back, they are quite more-ish.

Since I'm plugging Olives Et Al, let me put in a good word for this stuff. It's almonds, brazils, cashews, hazelnuts, pecans and pumpkin seeds in acacia honey. Mmmmm....  Perfect on vanilla ice cream!

Looks great!  I'd love some smoked nuts, do they do those?  Could not find them in the US though when I was there.

I've never seen a shop, but I know of a specialty deli where a lot of their stuff is sold (making a journey there next Monday!). And, of course, there's the internet.
