you can buy it on Amazon.com :-)

Don't know if they ship to the UK though...

i was shocked to think you could actually buy food like this on Amazon so i had to go and look!   Unfortunately, when i tried to have it shipped to the UK, it wasnt allowed.  :(

Nevermind... i can wait till i go to my mom's.  :)

Well, considering peep's post, I'm guessing it's got a veeeeery long shelf-life.  Or was that half-life? ;)

It was just because i normally just think of Amazon as books & CDs and stuff like that... not food!  ;D

Anyway, i've now got a can of Underwood devilled ham, and am going to try your family's 'crack' recipe this weekend... minus the nuts!   Sounds so good!

Ooh, I'm a big fan of the devilled ham.  Which reminds me of the recipe for what is known in my family as "Crack":

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 can Underwood devilled ham
1 8oz. brick cream cheese
1/2 cup crushed black olives
1/2 cup chopped pecans

Blend ingredients together and form into a log.  Chill, then serve with crackers.

Mmm... cheesy, hammy, salty goodness! :D

You've created a monster with this recipe!  ;D

I make a substitute version by buying that vile tinned ham, and hacking it up in the food processor, adding English mustard powder, then stirring in the other 'crack' ingredients.

I got another craving for Underwood chicken spread, so decided to check out the Shippam's Chicken Spread that i've always seen in supermarkets, but disregarded...

It took a wee bit of doctoring, but it is indeed a viable substitute for the Underwood!  I added more salt and pepper, and put it on a buttered cracker, and it was GOOD!!!   57p per little jar!   :D
