Thank you all so much! - and cam, I sent mine to Chicago, got an email today saying they received it, give them 5 working days to review it and then let me know their decision - going to be a looooonnnnngggg 5 days!!! I really didn't (and don't) expect anything before a few weeks, but hoping is good!  Keeping mine crossed for you too!

Wow- lucky you! I mailed mine the same day to NY and I have yet to hear anything. Kind of worries me.

well, i heard - not good news.  The consulate called me.  I don't have enough money, his parents bank statements aren't recent enough, they don't believe my CV is real, and although he is on disablity, they want income statements.  I hope this all falls into place, or all this is for naught.  I could just  :\\\'(  :\\\'(  :\\\'(

suz- really sorry to hear this.  but at least you know what they need.  concentrate on ticking off their boxes and i'm sure things will work out.  best of luck!

The standard is always the three most recent bank statements.  If these were not supplied, then it is likely to be refused.

More to add to my worries..I have statements from january and back...theres no leeway on this? My appt is tomorrow so theres nothing I can do to get original copies, would they accept the original ones I have an see if my fiance could fax the ones he has that are most recent? I dont want to get refused on something like that, not after everything else :(

Oh no- that is horrible. I did not even submit a CV- hope this won't be an issue. My fiance has money in his savings account- well over £30,000  so I don't think that will be a problem- but I am worried that I have not received an email of any kind.
Suze- is it possible for your fiance to come and live here with you?

Victoria -

I will be faxing his parents recent bank statement to Chicago tomorrow.  Will that suffice for them, or will it still be refused?

Cam -

My fiance's mother is battling cancer right now, and he is reluctant to move away from her, understandably.  I wouldn't worry too much about not receiving an email, not all consulates (from my understanding) are as prompt to do that.  Your fiance obviously has enough money to support you.

Aeonix -

I thought their statements would be alright, s their income doesn't change from month to month, but they have a bond that the consulate wants to know if they will cash in to help us.

Oddly enough, my being refused entry at one point never came up - didn't seem to care about that, just about the money issue.  He did ask me if I had sought work in England - I thought that was illegal?  I told him no, I hadn't, as I wasn't there legally yet.
