Dumb question

Yeah I know there are no dumb questions...


I am filling out the online application for the fiancee visa...yay!! But the part where it asks about living relatives...it only goes up to 6. I have 5 brothers, a sister and 2 parents......how am I supposed to fit them all in if it only goes to 6?

Are they wanting just biological family? 3 of my brothers are step-brothers and my step-dad....but surely they count as family to them,...they do to me.

From what I've been told, family means blood relatives.  Your biological mother and father and any biological siblings.

ok thats a lot easier...but I wont be telling my mom about that

Being denied entry and being deported are two different things. I'm sure there is a place on the application that asks if you have ever been denied entry (there was on my spousal visa app). Make sure you're honest and list it along with the reason you were told. They'll contact the airport where you were denied to confirm the reason and make sure everything is okay.

I would think that would be a yes, because since u were denied entry, you were required to leave the UK.  Hopefully someone with more knowledge will step in and give you a definite answer.

Michelle is right in that you have not been deported, removed or ortherwise asked to leave the UK.  You were denied entry, which is no where near as serious.

I am pretty sure that there is a box for beng denied entry.

On the other point, I would say to list ALL of your family - step-brothers etc included.  Just put their details on a seperate piece of paper attached to the form.

Thank you all, I had to backtrack a few times to change things I have it all done, paid for printed and got my appt for next thursday..wish me luck!! Im scared beyond belief!! hehe



I did notice when I said I had been required to leave it didnt have the right document so I did go back and put no instead. I also listed exactly why they denied me, they didnt think I would leave.

only appt they had thurs is 9:30 am I am 5 hours from chicaco..gonna be a looooooooong day that day!!

If somebody gets refused entry to the UK, they check YES on question 7.6 and put VISITOR for question 7.11 and then locate the refusal stamp in their passport.  Underneath will be a hand-written number.  It is the reference number to put in 7.12.

In 7.13, list the IS86 or IS98 (whichever they gave), the port, the date, and say "refused entry".

Oh, you will have to let me know how it goes! My appointment is on the 17th and I'll be going to Chicago as well! (I live here though, so not far for me!) Good LUCK!

I wouldn't fret.  I tend to play everything by the book, but that doesn't mean everybody has to do it. 

As I understand it, your refusals were based upon poor performance in your entry interviews, and this poor performance  was brought upon by fatigue.  So just tell them that.

Done and dusted.

OK - on my application I checked 'yes' on the refused entry question, as I was requested to leave (allowed to stay for 5 days) - BUT I never got a reference number, or paperwork - since then (it was 4 yrs ago) my name changed and I was issued a different passport, therefore no stamp in my current passport.  Haven't had any questions or problems since then - did I answer correctly??

Yes.  You were probably refused entry but given temporary admission.
