That's great!  Do you know where you will be staying?  Make sure and go to Shaw's Crab House, lol.  And there are many killer steak houses in the Chicago area too.  Lots to see....do you have any particular interests or hobbies?

If you like Thai food try PS Bangkok too and Giordano's pizza pies....ok now I want to go to Chicago too

Take advantage of it...go there and take a little holiday for yourself! You can go to a different city that she isn't in and have a little holiday and then go home when your meant too!

Seriously, better to turn it into a nice holiday and chalk it up to experience.  Think about how much more fun you'll have with your pal vs. with your ex!!!

I would just like to say a BIG thank you to everyone for all their advice,im gonna go Chicago for 6 days then going on down to Vegas..so watch out credit card   you all have a English friend for life now

This is one nightmare after another.just rang up e-bookers to try and cancel my Chicago to Indianapolis flight when i was told if i do that then my return flight from Chicago to London will be automatically CANCELLED!!! This is not fair. Has anyone got any suggestions?? Thanks

One thought would be  to rent a car, check out Indianapolis for a few days, and then head back to Chicago.  It is not that long of a drive I wouldn't think, a few hours?

Its probably going to take around 3 1/2 hours (depending on the time he leaves).  I think there's a train that would take him to Chicago, so he wouldn't need to drive (I'm not 100% sure though)

My friend has offered to come with me to Indianapolis,stay the night in a hotel and then get a flight to vegas and california so thats cool,is there anything of interest in Indianapolis for a day or so?? Also i emailed my ex (who lives in indiana) today to say im cutting off contact with her,she's caused enough trouble for me...I feel like a new man
