Even the original rabies vaccination certificate (which you get when your dog gets the shot)??  Thanks

The only thing the USDA stamps is the Third Party Vet Certificate!  After your vet fills in all the info on here, the USDA certifies it.

i am beginning to realize this process has changed a little bit since I did it.  I never had a form called 3rd party vet certificate but I did have an official form the USDA had to emboss.

No, the vet who does the paperwork, blood tests, etc... MUST be an accredited vet.  You should call the USDA's office and ask if your vet is.  80% of vets are.

I was told by the USDA vet that my regular vet could fill this out, and then I send everything to him (USDA vet) and he will stamp it.

I'm still confused about the Rabies boosters.  Why would you need a booster only months after the rabies vaccine was given?  Am I missing something?

Your regular vet can fill it out, as long as your regular vet is accredited.  You need to call the USDA vet's office to find out.  I can guarantee that I'm correct about this.

Basically, what they are saying is that you cannot let your dog's current rabies vaccination expire.  So, you need to keep his shots current.   Not everyone has their animal vaccinated right before the blood test is done.  For example, my dog was vaccinated a year before I took him in to get his blood test.  Because it was a three-year shot, he won't need a booster until 2007.  So, if I wanted to move to the UK in 2008, he'd need a booster before his current vaccine expires to keep current.
Otherwise, he'd need to start over again.

Now I get it!  Thank you for clarifying :)

Wow - I had just assumed that my vet was fine because the USDA vet didn't think it was a problem. With less than two months til the kitties travel, this could be a problem. I'll definitely be calling to find out.

my husband & I used a animal carrier service they did all the paperwork that was required to get my 2 cats over here to England. if im correct im pretty sure it was around $2350 dollars. I know thats alot of money to alot of people me included, but well worth it to me. I told dh I gave up Everything else I wasnt giving up my cats they mean the world to me. well to those of us who dont have children & are pets are our children. I wasnt taking any chances what so ever with there safety. I knew all the paperwork was properly done with no hiccups / mistakes. so there wouldnt be any hassle getting them here to england or getting them to me from heathrow airport. which was a bit more they had my cats deliverd to my doorstep. if u think about it  the cost of gas to get them myself from heathrow was about the same to have them deliverd to me so was well worth it. also it was a bank holiday weekend as well when my cats arrived. my husband & I live in East Cambridgeshire thats almost a 3 hour car ride from London. if anybody has any question's my husband & I wud b glad to answer them for anyone. the website for the animal courrier is called  airborneanimals.com I have also posted there number as well if u live in the states I think they r located in NEW YORK  the number is.  908- 684-1844   I wud recomend them to anyone who is having there pet shipped anywhere in the world they were extremly effiecient. if u go to there website an put in your info about your pet / pets & where u want it shipped to they will give u a free quote via your email address.

This company quoted me about $2000 (included crates, pick up, paperwork, and drop off) to ship two cats from Pennsylvania to Bath.

Hi There,

This is going to be a stupid question.  I had my little guy microchiped, shots and his bloodwork was taken.  Is there any official paperwork I have to fill out? I am going to be picking up some paperwork from the vet.

Thanks in advance :-)

Yes, there is official paperwork that not only needs to be filled out by your vet (and signed in BLUE ink), also needs to be endorsed by the ASDA vet.  Your vet should know what to do, but in case they do not (mine didn't and I wouldn't leave it to the vet to know, honestly), feel free to ask as I just went through all of it!

Check out pet scheme for dummies part 2 as that contains all the info you need! :)

Does the microchip certificate and the rabies certificate have to have the time as well as date on them to prove the microchip was done first?
