My last job was in SF and I can well understand the culture shock you're going through and the disappointment - even in a city as great as London. I sure hope things turn around for you and you meet up with some kind, friendly people to ease a bit of loneliness. :)

Thanks, guys -- all this comforting feedback has been like magic. I feel as if I can face life -- even in winter in London  ;) -- with a much stronger spirit. I'm surprised and delighted -- and grateful. I hope I can join in and give back some of the goodness on this site. xo Katelyn
