Eons ago, National Lampoon magazine used to have a regular pictorial feature on strange and/or funny road and shop signs, pics that people sent in.  That Zzyxzz (?) Rd. sign was among one of the one they printed,  way back when  LOL !

This is not a sign that most would see - but I got a giggle out of it after the *offense* wore off:

Was hiking in the States - I think it was in North Carolina - very tall mountain.  Came across this sign for a side trail:

Chunky Gal Trail

Also in NC - Big Butt Mountain

Another one that hubs and I found hilarious - but the locals couldn't get the joke: Frozen Knob

"Zzyzx Road"  --  Makes me think of caves.   Anyone who is already thinking XYZZY will know what I mean.  :)

Zzyzx is on the I-15 from Vegas to LA, and I have pased it at least 10 times.

I can remember saying to my mom as a little girl:

"How do you say that?"

"I don't know, but it's been there forever".

I always get a kick out  of the "Police Slow" signs. Gets me everytime!

Resurrecting quite an old thread, but here's a photo of a sign that DH & I think is funny - it's on a walk not far from where we live.  I made him take a photo of it today!   :D



Just out of curiosity - is this a 'normal' police sign?  I mean, is something like this posted elsewhere in the UK?

Just south of Covington, KY on I-75 is a turn off for "Big Bone Lick"   ;D
