I'm nervous...
« on: March 10, 2006, 06:33:57 PM »
In two weeks time I'm flying to America to visit my finace. It's just a two week visit but I'm scared that I'm going to be turned away by immigrations if I mention that I'm going to see a boyfriend. I've never travelled alone before but I remember from being younger how strict the immigrations people were in America and how many questions they asked my parents. I don't have a job (I just dropped out of college this week) and I live with my parents so I don't have my own house, so how can I prove I'm planning to  go back home again?

help!

I have been over quiet a few times the 1st time I went to see Chris I was asked who I was staying with and I said my friend and the chap said you have met an american chap on line and laughed and said so he is your boyfriend I said well at the moment its just friends but I would like him to be my boyfriend and he laughed and said have a good holiday.

I got a woman who asked if I had a criminal record me being quick to reply not as far as I know and then quickly added no I do not her face ssaid it all no sense of humour, and to be honest I think I was lucky because most of them do not seem to have and I have had some good ones so far with the exception of this one just hope they continue to be nice oh and I think travelling with kids they just rushed me through I dread to think what they thought me with 4 boys must have thought I was mad or stupid or brave to travell with them all, but the boys where very good.

Make sure you have all your paper work in order and turn your phone off the american io hate them, they are also very strict with that rule.  Make no jokes just look tired, be honest your going on holiday you just happen to be visiting your bf so he can show you around, there is nothing wrong with that.

Take travellers cheques and cash, you do not have to spend it just put it up for the bank when you get back or change it before you come back you will get a better exchange rate than over here as I have found out.
