Wow, we must have been robbed blind because we paid $300 to Foxtons for them after they found a place. But they never charged during the search process and we must have spent that much alone on petrol to be driven around the city for a week straight.

I just want to advise everyone against Winkworth's, I've had a horrible experience with them since I moved to London; and they're probably the main reason why I can't wait to head back to the US.

There was a programme on TV last week about estate agents and Foxtons was featured - some of their practices were very dodgy to say the least- they showed them forging landlord's signatures on documents and also cutting bits out and sticking in new paragraphs after contracts had been signed!!

I agree with rightmove.co.uk, it's how I found the flat I'm in now. :)

An update on me: £150 finding fee, and 1 month's rent upfront, and 1 mont's rent deposit. I worked with chase apartments.

Let's take our wigs off in the shopi aisle and fight it out.

The agent told that you are not aBritish Citizen and dont have any credit in UK since you just move 5 days ago ( no Bank, No Adress, No Nic).

Even in USA, if you dont have a credit History you will have a problem renting from Agent.
Thanks
