2)  Skippy peanut butter????  Therein lies the first and biggest mistake here.   Come on the best peanut butter in the world is JIF!!!!!

 ;D

I completely agree. But when I have a choice between Skippy and some random English peanut butter, I'm going for Skippy!!! Bleh, what's wrong with the peanut butter here? I think maybe they don't pack it with sugar like we do! LOL

Everyone here makes faces when I talk about eating peanut butter. But, if all I'd ever had was the stuff they sold here, I'd be making faces about it too!!!

I'm in the US and I have 2 brands of peanut butter in my pantry at the moment (I have a 12 year old son :P). The jar of Jif says on it "No refrigeration required" and the Peter Pan doesn't have anything about refrigeration at all.

I've personally never refrigerated peanut butter and never had any go rancid. The all natural stuff I would refrigerate though.

We were obsessed too!  But no one ever had it, not even my grandparents.  That was the way it was for far too many things as a kid for me.  Result, I am a sugar fiend now ::)

Same here, my mom would never buy the stuff, though my grandma did.  I did think it was cool back in the day.

Oh me too... my mom never bought sugared cereals, or PopTarts, or DingDongs or Twinkies or whatever...  resulting in me going totally off the rails when i left home, and buying/eating all sorts of unhealthy stuff!

same here...but back in the day we weren't very well off and I think it was more about saving money getting a big jar of peanut butter and jelly that would last a long time than that jar with the little big that doesn't lol

Well, I found it particularly funny when I moved here that most brits I know, put their peanute butter in the fridge and jelly in the cupboard. But I have sine pointed out on the jelly and jams I use they do actually say to refrigerate!

Ah, now where's that Wonder Bread someone mentioned??
