Uuuummm....my ham has a number on it!?!?!?
« on: March 18, 2006, 04:40:36 PM »
i'm not talking about the price...and i'm not talking about someone who took a magic marker to the plastic packaging....

i'm talking about the actual skin (or maybe i should say fat) of the piece of uncooked ham.  it has the number "65" plain as day...right there on the skin!!  i don't know why i didn't notice it in the store (well....actually...i do...DH was with me and he hates to shop.  imagine being on supermarket sweep and having only two minutes to fill up your cart with everything you need...and without the prize money at the end!!)...but now i have it at home...and the "65" just stares at me every time i open the fridge.

it looks like a little ham tattoo or something....each number consist of about 10 black dots (tho i haven't counted the exact number).  has anyone else come across this type of thing?  or does anyone know the significance of the number?  i'm a bit worried on whether or not i should attempt to cook it.

*aside*

my sister once went grocery shopping, list in hand - looked all over the meat dept for a 'ham ball' which was on her list - she finally realized what she had written was her OWN shorthand, and she wanted one of those little round 'cages' you put your hamster in so it can roll around the house - hence "Ham Ball"
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

Oh my goodness that is tooo funny.....very very funny

Ok another unrelated aside, although related to ham in a silly way

My sister went to the liquor store to get her husband some beer.  She saw that Hamm's was on sale (see told you it was related to ham) and got it - it was like $1.99 for a six pack or some such nonsense.  So she brings it home and tastes it and said it was really really awful.  So she brings it back to the store and tells them something's wrong with it.  The guy looks at it, looks at her, and says "Um, ma'am, it's Hamm's and it's $1.99.  What do you think it's going to taste like?"

Me too! I forgot about Supermarket Sweep.

I could of won. To bad they didn't take apps from 10 year olds.

Let's take our wigs off in the shopi aisle and fight it out.
