candy cookies?
« on: March 21, 2006, 01:39:51 PM »
I want to make chocolate chip cookies, but don't have choco chips, however I DO have a celebrations container of those little choco candy bars that nobody is eating. (probably because I've hidden them!) So, I was thinking of chopping them into little chunks and using them instead. Do you all think that would work ok? I was thinking some of the gooey insides might run too much while baking. What do you guys think?

Yeah there's mars, galaxy, caramel, milky way, topic and bounty. I think that's all.

Hmmm .... I thought you just had plain chocolate. I know the Galaxy ones will be delish, but the others might be more of an experiment. Still, I'll be anxious to hear the results!! :D

No, that's the idea. I could swear I've heard of candy bar cookies before, but can't remember where.

I just googled it too! But I think more candy is going in my mouth than in the dough.  :)But I imagine they should turn out ok, if there are so many recipes like this out there!

Getting ready to put the first batch in, going to be interesting.....btw, it takes a LONG time to chop up little bitty candy bars......so I cheated and added some minstrels. There are more chopped up bars than minstrels though.

oh my god...... i really don't know how to describe them. They taste like no other cookie I've ever had. they are ooey and gooey in spots, but it's the combination of flavors. Sometimes chocolatey, sometimes coconut...sometimes cinnamon....they are a HUGE SUCCESS. :D But it's a huge batch.....probably give some to the neighbors.
