the wait begins!
« on: March 21, 2006, 04:35:03 PM »
We have received your supporting documents and your application is now waiting to be assessed. We ask that you allow us 5 working days to review your application. If everything is in order with your application and we are able to issue your visa, we will send an email to let you know when it has been dispatched and provide you with a FedEx tracking number.

Yay!!!!! Now just the nail biting waiting...its gonna drive me crazy ;)

They already called and had me worried, but it was because I put box instead of # for the address which led them to believe its a p.o. box..its not, its a rural route, dunno why they call it box, its a mailbox out there ;)

So what should I do to make this time a little less stressful? Im sooo nervous but I know I dont have reason to be, but still its totally out of my hands, kwim?

I slept and exercised. I would exercise until I was exhausted and then sleep to escape the worry.  It was so nerve wracking that it was the only way I could handle it.  It was such a relief it arrived, FedEx, only 3 days after I sent everything off.

Hand in there!
I was born in the Summer and at Night...my mother named me AUTUMN DAWN.  True story.

EMAIL or PM me for information about gigs or about booking me (solo gig) or the band.

Wow thats fast. I wish mine would be that fast but I know it wont be, they have to get stuff from gatwick :(  The woman said visa too when she said she could send it back to me at that address..she should have said documents, but she didnt which makes it much more nervewracking ;)

I know there were others that went to get theirs too. I went to chicago WITH my application in hand, and was told that I made my appt for NY not Chicago, and therefore the funds were in NY, Id have to send the application to NY or pay all over again.

The woman at the consulate absolutely refused to even look at my application...and after coming home I called the help line and asked them if they could straighten things out, they said the payment automatically goes to the right consulate. The appointment scheduler has NOTHING to do with the payment.

I emailed the consulate and got a reply from a guy named Mark who said the funds were there, he doesnt know why anyone thought they werent, and theyd be happy to accept my application. He said if I had any problems to have whoever was doing the application to talk to him.

He also mentioned I must not have had my application with me...which I did...I havent let him know that yet but will once theyve made their decision ;)

Turns out hes the one handling the application it seems. So fingers crossed for good news soon!!

so the $494 you paid for the fastrack application goes into limbo until you actually schedule the appointment?
