Welcome Kate...

Sorry for not seeing your entry earlier...  I have been off of here for a few days...

I too am very impressed with your rare book conservation talents and desires...  sounds awesome...  to take your fingers to rare old treasures and preserve their words is very cool.

I just moved over to Northumberland just about a month ago...and even though I am battling back and forth the bad days of homesickness...I do love it up here...  it is beautiful to say the least...  I was in Edinburgh once about 5 years ago...and I never in my life saw such green grass and excellent architecture...  I look forward to going back for a visit soon with my honey...  it is only a mere hour or so drive for us north.

LOL, I use to have a cockateil...  Freddy...he use to have the run of the house...and would ride on the back of my dog...but I never though of putting him on a leash...how cute...would love to see that.

Anyway, welcome again to UKY...  hope to see more of you

Shel

Hi, Shel,

Nice to meet you! What brought you to the UK? I imagine this forum helps with the homesickness... I have a feeling I'll be using it alot when I get to Edinburgh  :)

Hehe, and I don't *actually* put my cockatiel on a leash. Although, now that you mention it....  ;D

My parents' dog LOVES the birdie. Whenever I bring her for a visit, he is ecstatic, and licks her like crazy. She's not so keen on him, but he's gentle with her.

Thanks again for your welcome!

Ok, so I'm smug.

hello again Kate...

One Mr Thomas Francis Fleck brought me to the UK...we had met on the internet in 2000...  fell in love after being good friends for several months...met in person several times spending weeks together...and now after a long wait for a few reasons...we are finally together in Northeast England for good... We had a wedding in the states before we left...but it was not legal on paper, just by God...  We plan to do it all over again with papers this coming spring...  hopefully the week after Easter.
