Microchip question.....
« on: March 23, 2006, 04:09:44 AM »
Does anyone know what "proof" of your dog being microchipped will be accepted by Defra?  What I have is a letter from the company I registered the microchip with, showing my name, dogs name, birth date, breed and the date he was microchipped.
Will this be enough or am I supposed to get some sort of "proof" from my vet as well?

Thanks :D

The microchip will be noted on every document you need to come over. Our vet must put the chip number on the docs before giving a shot for example.  Also.. they will have a reader and read the chip at the Animal Reception Centre.  You need to make sure it's EU readable and if not then buy a reader to take with you.
