So, you still have a sinus infection?  I'm really nervous about flying because that's how I first got the infection I'm dealing with now (I got it in Oct. and its now April, so the fun lasts for awhile).  I'm really trying to deal with it before I move.
I'm also using a netti pot to flush stuff out and am putting grapefruit seed extract in it, which is supposed to kill fungus and is also a natual antibiotic.  Seems to work.  I'm finally beginning to blow stuff out.

I have never used a netti pot, but I think I will pick one up. I don't currently have an infection, but I have constant clogged ears and pressure in my sinuses. One tip that I actually read on here to protect yourself from getting sick on the plane is putting neosporin in your nose when you fly. It helps to kill the bacteria and keep the membranes moist. It seemed to really help last time I flew.

my son has had both bacterial and fungal infections.  The main problem for him seems to be a resistance to the anti-biotics.  The longer the infection is left the more problems it causes and the less likely antibiotics are going to help.

The main difference between the U.S and U.K for sinus (based purely on our personal experience) is that the U.S care seems very pro-active, maybe even slightly over kill.  In the U.K it seems like a 10 antibiotics should fix the problem, if not we can't help !  Very frustrating system in the U.K.

Unfortunately, I have waited too long and am not able to get surgery in the US before I move.  I seem be getting better though and will have my third (in the last three months) MRI scan next month before I leave so I can take it with and also, so I can see if I'm improving with antibiotics.
I truly believe that a mixture of antibiotics, nasal spray and herbal remedies are the key.  It sucks though to think that most likely I'll be dealing with these for the rest of my life :(

How soon are you flying out ?  I hope you feel 100 % by then.  Have you got plenty of saline soloution ?  that seems to really help and it's pretty pricey here.

I'm flying out May 24th.  I'm buying tons of those powdered saline packets for my neti pot...I'm really nervous that it'll get worse, but I guess I won't know until it happens!

Its a little ceramic pot that you fill with distilled water and saline packets to flush your sinuses out.  It works well.
