Has anyone come in from Japan recently?
« on: March 24, 2006, 07:35:08 AM »
I'm having a bit of trouble with the cat's papers...

DEFRA says I'm basically OK, just need a tick/tapeworm treatment and a 'long-ass  certificate for non-prossie pets in the EC'.   Which I downloaded, but now I'm supposed to get a serial number from the Min of Ag here to put on the form.

Haha.  I haven't been able to find anyone who can speak English.  'Cat' was OK, but that was it.  My Japanese is OK for daily stuff, but not good enough for this situation.

Similar problem with the tick/tapeworm treatment.  We translated ticks and tapeworms for the vet, but he can't understand 'praziquantal'...

Anyhoo, real long shot, here.  Any ideas would be good, I'm just frustrated as heck by government people giggling at me and hanging up.

Figured it out.  Things are moving along well now that I've hired a shipping agent.

The agent doesn't actually DO anything, but I can now talk to people easily and get information.  For example, JAL will now let me book her flight.

Cost:  about 1,000 pounds.  (Agent fee only, no idea about the plane ticket yet.)

I am thinking calming ovine thoughts now.
