Sounds interesting....have a recipe?

Yes I will check it out and post...
Here's something I found on the internet but note that you need to get something called 'chaat masala'.  It is basically a mix of a bunch of different spices plus salt/pepper.  I can give a recipe for that as well but the best thing is to just get it from an Indian/South Asian grocery store.  Also you're not bound to put those specific fruits - mango for instance - you can put anything that you'd put in a regular fruit salad (maybe not raisins!).

1 Apple
1 Orange
1 Mango
1 Pear
1 cup Watermelon
1 Banana
1 cup Honey Dew Melon Balls
1 tsp Chaat Masala
Juice of 1/2 Lemon
Salt for taste
Optional (Can add any kind of fruit that is firm)

Method:

Cut fruits into 1/4" inch cubes. Mix all the ingredients in a serving bowl. Add salt and chaat masala to suit your taste.

Oh does anyone like/can anyone think of salty drinks??  I have this theory that salty drinks are just plain WRONG.  In India (of course) there's this thing called jal jeera and it is a gross concoction of water plus spices - DH looooooves it and I haaaaaate it.  They even sell it in a can there, I think. I agree. Salt in drinks. Its a killer. The only time I use salt now is on the rare occasion I eat watermelon.

I've never tried it....although the last Indian restaurant I went to offered 'salty lassi' in addition to 'mango lassi'.  (Sorry if I spelled it wrong.)  I tried the mango and it was lovely....couldn't bring myself to try the salty, though....

And thanks for the recipe!  I'll poke around and see if I can find the chaat masala seasoning....my mother might very well have some hiding around the house somewhere.
When I am grown-up I will understand how BEAUTIFUL it feels to administrate my life effectively.

Until then I will continue to TORCH all correspondence that bores me and to dance NAKED over the remnants of its still glowing embers.

The only use for salt in a beverage is to accompany the tequila and lime wedge.  Or possibly rim a margarita glass.

I had a roommate who actually drank that stuff.  Opened the fridge... poured a glass... and drank it.  I think I'm gonna puke just thinking about it. :-X

It's a tomato/clam juice product.

It's primarily used for making Manhattan-style clam chowder.  And really gross bloody marys.

I think jeera is cumin, and since cumin is my favourite spice... i think i might actually like that!
