What about just eating all of your snacks on the plane?

i mentioned that in my last post:  there isn't anything barring one from actually bringing them on the plane.  but if you do, you have to consume everything that defra says can't be imported prior to the plane landing.    :P  great minds think alike.

i bought some dried fruit once in singapore.  when i arrived in australia i hadn't finished them all.  b/c australia's laws are VERY strict about bringing in animal products I just left the remaining dried mango (oh so wonderful) on the plane.  annoying but better than being fined lots of money by australian customs.

Babybels!!!  Yum!

i'm addicted to those little laughing cow cheese squares.

we used to buy them when i was a toddler, then they disappeared into a the black hole of grocerydom, and only just reappeared last year around these parts.

you get about two crackers' worth of spread from each cube. plus, they're cute.  :P

I'm addicted too, but I haven't been able to find any of the flavored ones by my house. I really like the French Onion and Garlic Herb, but all I find is regular here.

I think I'm going to take the advice in this thread on my trip back home. The airplane food on the way over was AWFUL.

consider ordering a veg meal onyour next flight. somehow, we seem to get fresher food then the carnivores.

When I travel, I bring a variety of sweet and salt, plus a couple of different "textures" because you never know what you'll crave.  I bring things like:

Goldfish crackers
Candy (swedish fish, sour patch kids for chewy, sweetarts or sprees or lifesavers for hard/sucky things)
Candy bar
Granola bar
Pretzels
Dried or fresh fruit
Little "cheese and cracker" packs
WATER and more WATER

Funny you should mention that.   :)  I did order a veggie meal, cause I used to be a vegetarian. (I just started eating meat again since I've been in the UK). Even before I became a vegetarian, I was afraid of that mystery meat they serve on the plane, but my neighbor's plate across the aisle actually looked pretty good!

**Sorry for the hijack**  ;D

Luna bars (or any protein or healthy bar), dried fruit, Japanese rice crackers, sesame snaps, 9-bars, pumpkin seeds...anything that you can put in little packets and not have to worry about smashing in your carry-on. Don't take too much, though. You probably won't get as nibbly as you think you will. (I always used to carry too much junky snack food. Try making a plan, like if your flight is 9 hours with a 2 hour layover or whatever, plan how many times you'll snack and when, and just take enough for that. Keeps you from eating too much, too).
