first time paying taxes abroad
« on: March 28, 2006, 01:08:23 PM »
My husband and I just moved to the UK in August.  I am not sure how to file income taxes here.  I was employed in the US through July 2005 and started working here October 2005.  I also rented out my house half the year and got married in July.  I guess since this is the first time I am filing as married and with rental property as well as having foreign income I am confused.  Do you have any suggestions of someone I can talk to? The only person I know of charges £200 an hour on top of filing charges.

Lots of the other posts on this site cover the topics you raise.  Read through some of the old postings from about mid-2005 onwards, you should get a good general idea of what first steps to take.
