My dearest doggy is a rescue as well, as was my first dog.  He's no pure bred but he's loved all the same.  :)  I would rescue again in a heartbeat.

ditto! ;)

Oh, and in case you missed it, my dog is gorgeous.  :D  Rescue a dog.  You won't regret it.

Love your life, poor as it is. You may perhaps have some pleasant, thrilling, glorious hours, even in a poorhouse. The setting sun is reflected from the windows of the almshouse as brightly as from the rich man’s abode; the snow melts before its doors as early in the spring. Cultivate property like a garden herb, like sage. Do not trouble yourself much to get new things, whether clothes or friends. Turn the old; return to them. Things do not change; we change. Sell your clothes and keep your thoughts…

He's got a wee brass tag on his collar that says 'I was cared for at Battersea Dogs Home' ...  :-*

I wanna share my doggie too!  She was neglected by her first owner and dumped off at the pound at 4 months old.  A non-profit rescue shelter saved her and had her in foster care until I adopted her at 6 months old.  Shes the best doggie ever [smiley=smitten.gif]

Moving in August presents some problems. One, there isn't time for the six months after the vaccines and blood test required by PETS. Another, many airlines won't ship pets if the temperature is over a certain amount, and August in Oklahoma is likely to be above that.

Either way you are going to have to leave him behind for several months then ship him over separately. That's going to cause extra trouble and expense which you should calculate. And be sure to figure how big he is gong to be in six-months, since shipping charges are based on crate sizes, and the crate has to be large enough for him to stand up and not touch the top of the crate.

Kristi and Jennredd, I love your dogs!! :)

Ahh, we would love to have a dog but being a bit unsettled....we keep putting it off. Whenever we are out taking a walk we always admire everyone else's!

I should get into this as well.  Our Sophie, 2 years old last week.

I see Jenn's dog (he's gorgeous!), and Sophie (too cute!)  but not Quarter's. :(
