Rumballs to get your office drunk!

Here's a fun recipe for you:  Saf's Diabolical Rumballs.

4 cups graham cracker crumbs
1 cup sweetened cocoa (I use Ghirardelli)
honey
1 cup crushed walnuts (I don't use these at all)
1 cup rum (I use 151  ;D but you can use regular)
1/2 cup bourbon
powdered sugar to coat

Combine all ingredients in a large bowl until all wet and mushy.  Use more honey for taste, more rum for consistency.  Form into balls (this stuff will coat your hands, so beware!  Roll the balls in powdered sugar.  Eat.  Do not operate heavy machinery.

Will keep at least 2 weeks in the fridge.

I send these to work with my hubby and his whole office gets buzzed.  (Seriously...look at the alcohol in these things!)  They have them before lunch and by 5 are fine to drive home again, so it works well.  I say, what's the point of a rumball if it isn't like doing a shot??

Enjoy!

I make a Bundt rum cake with an entire bottle of Bacardi, between the cake and the SAUCE... :D

Are Rumballs the same as what we call rum truffles here in the Uke?  Like chocolate spheres covered in grated chocolate which (if they're made like my Joss makes 'em) have a kick like a mule?

Just thought I would "bump this up" to share the recipe again, it being close to the Big Drinking Holidays.  I just got a request from hubby's job yesterday to make sure they get these again this year so figured it was a good time.

Ooh I'll definitely give those a go! Sounds like something that I could bring to Jamie's family Boxing Day thingy - though more alcohol at that may NOT be just what the doctor ordered, LOL!

One question - I've never looked for graham crackers over here. Are they widely available? I think maybe I've seen digestives as a substitute - is that right?

Digestives would be fine, or Nilla wafers.  Any plain cookie/cracker, really.

These are good. I've used this recipe (or one very similar) before and everyone loved them. I also made some using coconut rum and substituted shredded coconut for half the walnuts and they were yum. :P
