I admit that, when I was in the U.S. a couple of months ago, I made my mom stop at Taco Bell on the way home from the airport!

We eat pretty fresh and healthy at home, but when we go back to the U.S., I just want to eat out at all of the restaurants that we dont' have here.

Mmm.....now I'm going to go to sleep dreaming of chili cheese fries and root beer....

what are the firstthings you go for when you go "home"

well, first of all 'over there' is definitely not home to me...  when i go over, i am there to visit my parents, who live 1500 miles from where i grew up, so im going to a place i dont know at all.

First thing, though... mexican food of any sort (even Taco Bell counts in this instance!).
Next, probably Triscuits... i really, really love them.
After that... possibly brown sugar cinnamon PopTarts.

Those are the 'big 3'... after that, i'm not bothered.   Like Carolyn, my diet has changed a lot since i left the US, and has changed even more so in recent months, so food is not a huge priority for me anymore.  But believe me... it once ruled my life, and a few years ago, my list would have been a lot longer!!

isn't it funny how that works?  i am the same way.  my diet has changed a lot in the short 4 months i've been here.  and it's not like the brits eat totally different food from americans (like spider legs or bat's wings or something wierd like that)....granted...some things are different...but for the most part, the basics are all the same.

I never really thought about the different foods before.  I eat pretty healthy - mostly fruits & veggies.  BUT NO Triscuits!!!!!    I may have to reconsider this whole moving thing.

Sigh. I think we should start some sort of campaign to get Mexican restauranteurs to move over here - they'd make a killing.
