I had a pair of New Balance. They came highly recommended, but when push came to shove they were HORRIBLE for walking! They might be good for running, but they just weren't cutting it for day-to-day walking in and around Edinburgh. My feet ended up absolutely trashed...so sore it was difficult to walk to the bus stop let alone anywhere else. The shoes cut into my foot right above where my toes meet the rest of my foot and gave me terrible tendonitis, bursitis(?) in the ball of my foot, and pain running from the my toes right through the arch of my foot, and heel pain. I tried on LOTS of shoes after that and always had the same problem.... I finally settled for a pair of Hi-Tec rugged walking shoes/low cut hikers. My feet are finally happy again!!!
