i think it's worth it for the meat and fish alone.

i buy the bags of frozen raw shrimp and the frozen salmon.  it saves me TONS.

i ususally don't buy chicken or anything as i doubt they are free range like i usually use, but i do get other items there.

I do have a car & a garage (thank G*D!) for storage...thing is that I have a Makro card (similar to Costco - buy things in bulk, warehouse type place but UK products) but wondered if there were lots of US products in the UK Costcos?

DH's company just signed-up for Makro.  Their prices on things like TVs are nuts!  We can't wait to get there.
I don't think I'd buy food or household items in bulk, though.  I usually buy the biggest packages I can find in the regular supermarket here, and I'm already running out of room.

Our Costco has frozen corndogs and Cheesecake Factory cheesecake!

Yeah, the marinated artichokes are in an enormous jar and are only about 4.99.

I totally wasn't convinced until I read that!! :D

The rest of the stuff ... Poppycock, etc. ... I find at ordinary shops here.

But I have this never-ending battle with the tuna in the UK! I hate it! I end up buying the super-expensive white tuna from Sainsbury's which is, admittedly, lovely.

However, I think my nearest Costco is in Bristol -- about three hours' drive from here. :(

OOOOOOO, I want one of these!!!

You can probably find a cheap Senseo on eBay! I did!

I can't wait till my mom comes over to visit.  She has a membership and will go shopping with R for stuff, especially for baby. (Which I am hoping they have)  But Chicken of the Sea and poppers!!!!  I am sold.  I think I will sign up for membership when I go back to visit in September.

Like Belindaloo said... they sell them all over, including eBay, Comet, Currys, etc.    I think Argos has them too.  You dont need to make a trip to Costco for that, but... there are LOTS of good reasons for going to Costco!

Including their cafe... the pizzas are nice, the hot dogs are nice, the smoothies are nice....  yummmm.

ok, I'm psyched! I agree that the tuna here is bad - but the little things like Chicken of the Sea makes all the difference, doesn't it?!  I think I've been out of the US too long (7 years) to know about jalapeno poppers, so I might have to try them in May.

Thanks guys! ;D

It's not bad, exactly... it's just that i was brought up on white tuna, and prefer it to the brown stuff.
