Reunion Stories
« on: April 11, 2006, 04:12:47 AM »
Ok in among all the other things I have to take care of for my move to the UK I have been day dreaming about my reunion with my DH!!!!  Does anyone have a really romantic story to tell about reuniting with their sweetie in the airport or whereever you reunited??    It seems like the next 4 months that I have left here in the US is gonna drag so I am just trying to focus on the good aspects.  I have been trying to post postive topics just to keep focused.

Oh, I also daydream about that all the time!

I actually had a dream about it once.  But the dream ended up slightly odd.  It started out with me seeing him in the airport and crying (pretty realistic there), but then we decided to walk from Heathrow to Paddington.   :o  We ended up stranded on the side of a cliff (I don't know why there was a cliff...crazy subconscious) with a couple of..well...rather chavvy girls.  So glad that one was just a dream!  I started laughing when I woke up at the thought of walking all that way (and with huge suitcases, no less).

During my waking hours, my thoughts about it are mostly like the first part of that dream.  Seeing him in the airport, I'll probably start crying.  I'm such a sap.   ;D  I don't know how long it will take to sink in and be "real" when it actually happens.  I imagine I'll go through a period of thinking "Wow, am I really here?"

Edited because I just realized today you were asking for reunion stories, not dreams of reunion stories...hehe.

I'm thinking about this a lot too.  I'm bad at being emotional in front of people that I know and his parents are supposed to pick me up from the airport though.  I've been focusing on how not to look and smell like I've just spent 12 hours cooped up in various tin cans with lots of other people.   ;D

We only have to go 3 months each time....but,

He brings me flowers everytime he meets me at the airport.

And when he came over here in Apr, I told him I was going to meet him at Sheffield train station (I live in sheff he was flying into manchester airport) but I decided to go and surprise him at the airport at the last minute. The look on his face was totally worth me getting up extra early and rushing around and nearly going to the wrong terminal, haha. He was so shocked, and he thought it was great, and it meant he didnt have to sit on the train from the airport to sheff by himself

When I came back on my fiance visa, it was so powerful between us. After months of worrying I wouldn't get it and worrying about having to be apart,me possibly being stuck in the US and pregnant., when we first seen each other at the airport after I got my visa we clenched on to each other like there was no tomorrow and the look on his face when he seen my expanded bump was speechless ,he was about to cry at the airport when he seen it! His friend gave a ride to/from the airport,so on the whole trip home we cuddled the entire time, I don't think a crowbar could've seperated us!  it felt so good to be together again :)

I hope your 4 months fly by  ;D

I have 2 really good reunion stories.

He flew to the states to see me in August 2005. We had been apart some 4 months and this was going to be the deciding trip - where were we going with our relationship.  His flight was delayed, they shipped him to London and then we couldn't find each other at the airport.  It was one thing after another. I had a rose in my hand, just waiting to give it to him.  We finally found each other and I skipped / ran into his arms and jumped into his open arms.  We were right by the taxi/limo pick up so there were lots of smiling faces looking at us.  It was perfect.

Second one was when I took my first trip to the UK in December.  My first trip over the pond.  I came out from baggage claim and there he was. He instantly pulled me to the side, right by a Christmas tree, and got down on his knee and asked me to marry him - Right in the middle of BHX.  It was so romantic.  I have no recollection of anybody else existing at that moment.  It was perfect.

Just waiting for July 4 so I can get on that plane and add to another reunion story.

Two of our reunions are actually pretty funny...
The last trip I flew over, he couldn't meet me and sent a driver.  The driver had an envelope for me with the keys to the flat and a nice little note from him (BF not the driver).  When I called to tell him I was here and in the car...we realized he gave me the wrong key to the flat.  He was on his way to a meeting and couldn't come and meet me so I had to meet his assistant at a Tesco on the M3!!  That was so romantic...when he got home from work that day, I told him it was nice to meet the "other woman" in his life!

My first trip over to see him was even MORE romantic....I had just flown 8hrs. and then interrogated for 10 minutes in Immigration.  I come through the doors and he didn't recognize me!!!!! It had only been 3 weeks since we'd last seen each other!  OK - my hair was a bit darker and straight, I was wearing my glasses and I had this big black poncho on...I walked right up to him and said HELLO!  He was SO embarrassed...all he could say was that he didn't expect me to be wearing a disguise!! O0

I'm not any better at the airport meetings....I've been late few times to pick him up and he never lets me forget it.

The first time I flew to the States to meet my bf my flight was delayed by 5 hours.. may I add O'Hare is a boring airport when you are stuck there exceptionally nervous (my first time ever flying too!)  Once I landed in Indiana I toodled along to baggage claim as he wasn't at the gate, as I stood waiting for my luggage he walked straight past me to the gate!  At least I thought it was him, we'd not actually met before, as he came back around he went toward the check in desks, and I didn't wanna shout and look like a moron if it wasn't him, so I stalked him instead!!  We waited ages for my luggage, turns out it arrived on my orignal flight 5 hours earlier, then we walked to his car and he gave me the most leg weakening smooch.   [smiley=heart.gif]  It was wonderful.

I hope Dublin this year is just as wonderful :)
