Dry cell batteries question, please help
« on: April 14, 2006, 07:10:37 AM »
I am sending a package to some friends in Zambia and one of the things they requested was 8 NO LR20 rechargeable batteries.

DHL will only send dry cell batteries.  Are these dry cell or can they be bought dry cell? Can't seem to find the answer anywhere.

Thanks

Grace,

An LR20 is a regular D-size cell.  All of these, whether disposable zinc-carbon/alkaline or rechargeable NiMH/NiCd are classed as dry cells, so you'll be fine.

A wet cell is one which uses a liquid electrolyte, such as a lead-acid car battery.

Thanks so much Paul.  I figured you would be the one to answer. :)
