Oh the places you'll go!?!

Where are you going next?  Could be just for a day or weekend, or a major vacation!!! ;D

Tomorrow we are taking the train to Newport, (S. Wales) , and meeting his friends for a pub crawling afternoon in Caerleon.  Interesting little village, reading some history about it on Wikipedia...

Caerleon is one of the sites most often connected with King Arthur's Camelot. There was no Camelot mentioned in the early Arthurian traditions recorded by Geoffrey of Monmouth, Wace, and Layamon. These early Arthurian authors say that Arthur's capital was in Caerleon, and even the later recaster of Arthurian material, Sir Thomas Malory, has Arthur recrowned at "Carlion" (Caerleon). It has been suggested that the still-visible Roman amphitheatre at Caerleon is the source of the 'Round-Table' element of the tales, and was used for discussion and entertainment.

We're going to the US in June for our big wedding reception.  Then we're coming back and going to the Download music festival at Donnington Park the next weekend.  Then we're staying at home for a few months, and then heading to Wexford, Ireland to see Black 47 play!  :)

I'm heading to Manchester and Sheffield in exactly a month...part vacation, part hanging out with friends, part "business" (as in visiting the university I'll be attending in the fall.)  It's a lot to pack into such a short trip (a little over a week) but I can't wait!

Going to Paris this upcoming weekend.  Then Sardinia the next weekend!  8)

The weekend of June 23rd, I'm going to Hell's Canyon.  In spite of living within driving distance of it for many years, I've never been there!

I'll be in London the on the 7th of June, meeting df there for a few days of R&R before going up to York to finish wedding stuff.  Then I think to Rome for the honeymoon, but he's still deciding for sure where we are going.

In June, we are going for our annual fortnight on Islay... an island off the west coast of Scotland.
DH's family have a house there, where FIL and his father before him were born.   The in-laws stay there from March to October, but clear off for a fortnight in June so that DH and i can have our holiday there with our dog... walking, fishing, relaxing.  :)

The photos below show the house and garden, and then another view over the garden wall, looking out to the sea.  Dont know if it will show up or not, but the shadowy island in the distance on that picture is the Antrim coast of Northern Ireland.

We're going to the Perthshire Highlands in June.  AND, to Northumberland to see the castle that is the setting for Hogwarts in the Harry Potter films!  :D

In August, the ILs are taking a chalet for a week in Dumfries and Galloway, so we'll go there for a bit.

In June my fiance and I are doing a 3 week tour of the States for him to meet my family & friends (he's excited and nervous)...

Looks lovely!!!

I'm planning on arriving back in Scotland in July sans children, then back to the US and returning to Scotland with the kids in August.  I so can't wait to get 'home' again!!!

I'm going to Orlando in late May! My grandparents didn't want their timeshare this year and gave it to me!!!!

Santa Cruz mountains tomorrow and hopefully wine country or Monterey later this week. Hopefully, the not so sunny CA weather lately holds out!!

then, back in the UK...

May- Northern Ireland
June- Scotland again
July- Ireland
August- Paris
September/October- a few ideas I am playing with
November- back to CA

...with a few side trips around England and Wales thrown in here and there.

Having a paycheck and lots of holiday is lovely!  ;D
