I have to say I disagree with Franky and Bennie's---although I can understand your disappointment. The fried mozzarella is indeed very very disappointing however I have found things I love to get from there. Their chicken wings are delicious and I really enjoy their pizza---both are the closest things I have found to anything from "home". Their bbq ribs are also good----go on, give 'em one more try!

Cafe Pacifico was a bit disappointing this time round, but it did the job to satisfy me, as there is nothing in our town that even compares.  But the company the other night more then made up for any shortcomings.

Anne have you been to Taqueria in Westbourne Grove yet? It's meant to be good, it's owned by the Cool Chile Co people.

Ashton and I went to the Taqueria, it was the best mexican food I have had in the UK.  It is more in the style of Mexico City style.

I think Texas Embassy is one of the worst restaurants in London.  I've been 3 times and every time.. bad food, watered down drinks and expensive.  Cafe Pacifico is hit and miss of late.  I've had fab meals there and bad ones.  Mostly, the drinks are so expensive!  £27 for a pitcher of gritas!
Love your life, poor as it is. You may perhaps have some pleasant, thrilling, glorious hours, even in a poorhouse. The setting sun is reflected from the windows of the almshouse as brightly as from the rich man’s abode; the snow melts before its doors as early in the spring. Cultivate property like a garden herb, like sage. Do not trouble yourself much to get new things, whether clothes or friends. Turn the old; return to them. Things do not change; we change. Sell your clothes and keep your thoughts…

A 'true' Caesar salad doesnt have any tomato at all!  ;)

I agree that Frankie & Benny's is a disappointment... i've been there twice, and both times regretted it because the food was just plain average, it was over-priced, and there were always kids screaming in the restaurant.

All of the Caesar salads I have ever had never had any tomato.. I was thinking, "Why is there tomato on this?" but ate them anyway since I like tomatoes.I started to doubt myself for some reason.

Places like to get "creative" with their Caesars sometimes, but I'm a purist. A place I used to frequent in the US always put tomato in their Caesar salad -- I always asked for it to be left out, but it always appeared. Still, aside from the tomato, it was a fabulous salad so I kept on ordering it! :D

:-[ I rather like Cafe Pacifico.

And wagamama is fab....I must disagree, I think US portions are insane, and I like the far more proper UK portions.

Let's take our wigs off in the shopi aisle and fight it out.

I have gotten quite used to UK portions and when I go back to the states I realize how gluntonous we are. I can never finish a meal in the states anymore
