My last purchase was a copy of A Pinch of Posh: A Beginner's Guide to Being Civilised for a friend for Christmas, and a copy of Quite Ugly One Morning for another friend, also for Christmas.

A world vegetarian cookbook for my MiL but it is going to be too overwhelming for her--very thick with over 365 recipes but NO pictures!! 

She needs pictures.  We'll give it to much more advanced cook friends instead.

A very cool "starter home" set of glasses for my cousin for Christmas (he just bought a new place). It has 4 ordinary glasses, 4 tumblers, 4 wine glasses, 4 pint glasses, 4 half-pint glasses and 4 shot glasses! He'll have a lot of drinking to do!
