I don't have one, but have always wanted one. I think AnneR has one and uses hers quite a bit.

Well, I'll admit, I didn't cut myself, but did scratch my finger.  That said it's not an expensive one, so maybe it's just a bit crap.  I've always wanted one.  But it's not worth it if I keep hurting myself ;)  I'll try it again though, in case it was a beginners bad luck.

We have a mandolin (well I think it's the same thing anyway).  It's Japanese and we call it by the only word in English on the box: "Benriner".  It's meant for making sashimi.  It comes with a plastic "finger guard" (sorry, I don't know what these parts are actually called) that you stab into the food.  My mom gave me another kind of "grabber" which I sometimes use too.  I've never cut myself in ten years of using it.  Now that I've said that I probably will though...

Why yes, yes she does.   :D

I like it, but I find it a bit irritating to wash. We have a grabby thing that keeps fingers safe - I'd be too afraid to use it without it - it's VERY sharp!!

I use mine quite a bit.  I love it for potatoes and cabbage especially.  I just got a cheapy plastic one from lidl and it has been great.  I wouldn't use it without the finger saver thing.  I have yet to cut myself (knocks on wood).

It looks like the one I'm getting comes with the finger guard, fortunately. I've had enough bad experiences with the peeler.  :o
