Registry Office Question

Does anyone know a site that lists the Registry Offices that can take registrations from Non-EU citizens?  I've been looking on the Home Office site, but I am getting myself confused.  I think we would prefer to do it in Exeter, but I guess London will suffice. 

Also, we intend to live in Exeter for awhile, so if we register in London can we have the union in Exeter, or will it have to be in the same district?

I may be misunderstanding your question because I thought any registration office would perform unions provided one person is resident in England.

Still tired of coteries and bans. But hanging about anyway.

Use to be, but now it's only certain ones.  We had to register our intent in Bletchley/Milton Keynes even though we live in Leighton Buzzard.

Hmmm, I was thinking you had to register where you are resident, not where youre getting married? Should be interesting, if we move we'll be in wiltshire but want to get married in Bath register office.
Moved to the UK April 2006
Married March 2007
Moved to the U.S. June 2009

Husband accepted new job in UK April 2016
Returning to UK Aug/Sept 2016!

Well, it looks like Exeter has a capable office, so that's cool.  It's very confusing.  From what I understand you have live in the register area for 7 days to file.  What if you were moving to an area that couldn't process American filers?

that happened to me,fortantly the town that did was only a 30 minute train ride away

Then you go to the closest one to where you live that does.

We registered in the Exeter office. We live in Berkshire, but were getting married in N. Devon.  My husband was a trooper, and checked it all out for us.  We weren't able to register in Barnstaple (closest registry office to where we were getting married) because they didn't take non-EU people, so they referred us to Exeter. 

We knew we had to have 7 or 8 days residency, so we went down on the Fri, stayed the week, and went to the registery office on Mon.  We had a note from the people we stayed with to state that we'd been there those days.

The process was really simple.  They asked us both questions, but we stayed in the room together.  They sent us the registry paper in the post, and we contacted the vicar who was going to perform our service to let her know we had all our paperwork.

I was really nervous, knowing that if we didn't get the registry docs, we couldn't go ahead with our planned wedding.  But it all worked out fine.  I'm sure you guys will have no problem, and they were really nice there. They are used to having non-EU people (and apparently, have loads of people who don't speak English well, so they love it when Americans come in). :)

:-\\\\  Okay.  I am confused on this whole thing.  We were originally going to get married in Scotland, since the laws are a bit more relaxed there, but then decided to move to the Pershore register office since it's pretty and close to where his parents live.  This whole registering thing...aggh.  We'll have to register where we live even though the wedding is going to be in Pershore...right?  But if we live somewhere where there isn't one of those designated register offices...we have to go and stay in the same area as one that is designated to accept American applications for a week?  Arrrgh.  Registering my intent should not confuse me more than applying for the actual visa.
