Oreo Cookies
« on: April 23, 2006, 05:09:20 PM »
I just wanted to share a funny story..

We get our oreos at either Sainsbury's or Costco. they come in little packages of 6 cookies each.  The kids take them for their lunches.  Well, of course six cookies are a bit much to eat at one go so the kids have been sharing them.  DS was at football camp all week and one of the parents came up to me today saying that they just had to meet us because they have been to every grocery store in Leicester looking for Oreos because her twin sons are now totally hooked!  They finally found some and the kids have been eating them like crazy, making  six-oreo-sandwiches.  When they eat them with peanut butter, then we know they will have been totally converted!

Do you mean you dip the Oreos in PB?  That sounds yummy!!!  I've had the Oreos with the PB already in it, but I didn't like it...tasted fake!

The boys at the school where I work love oreo cookies so much that they are wonderful bribery tools ;-). (I get disappointed when they find they can pick them up easily at Sainsbury's!)

When I was in England at New Year's, df bought some at Sainsbury and gave them out only to the Americans at the party.  I have no idea why, but I think it was because he was so proud of finding something that most Americans he know really love!

I think the Oreo loving gene has skipped a generation because my daughter hates them. I used to put them on in her lunchbox and that was the thing that came back uneaten..then I found out she used to trade the packets for cheesestrings!!

that's blasphemy!! ;D
But never fear, gentlemen; castration was really not the point of feminism, and we women are too busy eviscerating one another to take you on.

I get mine in Iceland.

Me and the wee boy had a pack today at the park while watching the swans. He's only had them once or twice before. (yes I always scarfed them all, they didn't even make it into the cupboard)  :-[

Anyway, I looked over and he was peeling the bits apart to lick the cream.

That's breeding for ya baby!

My kids are more civilised than that, they spread the peanut butter over the top and then eat them.  That is their favourite "guilty treat".  I don't eat them that way!

Ah, yes.  Those who do not fully appreciate the beauty of the Oreo are not allowed to eat the Oreo.

Well, he would eat them all in a sitting if I had them out.  I like to have one or two occasionally.  He is also banned from my grasshoppers.
