One little warning though - this site was last updated in 2001 - which means that a lot of the legal aspects are incorrect.

For example - the Fiance' Visa is NOT single-entry, it is multiple entry.  Also, the Spouse Visa and the Further Leave to Remain are now for 2 years, not 1.

And now there are only 3 Consulates you can apply to in the US for Visas - Washington no longer processes Visa applications, so it's just Chicago, L.A. and N.Y.

I did come across this site myself when I was making my plans back in early/mid 2002.  It is a wealth of information, if only for the links.

For the life-style stuff, definitely a must-visit.  But for the legal stuff, I would stick with the Home Office and US Embassy sites.
