Tea....
« on: May 07, 2006, 09:44:10 PM »
If you are a daily tea drinker....do you always have the same kind?

Hubs and I were just chatting about it, Im the coffee drinker in the morning and caffeine free tea drinker in the evening.  I have several that I like (my new favorite is Bengal Spice)  He is all about the Earl Grey.  He has other teas in the cabinet, but they just sit there collecting dust!   ::) ;D

1 litre of iced tea every morning (at the mo im using Jackson's orange pekoe, but i swap between that and Tetley's Redbush Vanilla herbal tea)  iced, with a tiny bit of Splenda.

And i usually have a cup or two of STRONG tea from a vending machine at work... milk, no sugar.

I'm very into Red Raspberry Leaf tea at the Mo.  I do it iced with splenda.

I love Chai tea, but save it for special occasions.  Usually just do PG tips white with splenda.

Generally I'm a coffee gal - a big strong black cup in the morning and sometimes another at lunch time, but I enjoy tea sometimes too and I have it exactly like expat:

PG tips.  Strong.  With one sugar and milk.

Strong dark coffee in the morning, with milk.

Strong, strong tea, black in afternoon and evening.  I either drink earl grey or I'm currently enjoying Twinings fruit and herbal blends.

I drink a lot of tea in the mornings but try to not drink any after 2pm as I can't sleep if I do.

I prefer my strong with milk and 2 sugars. (I'm a rebel).

And I looooooooooove chai tea lattes, Stacey.

I am so glad to hear that, Ash. My colleagues all drink it right up to the end of the day and think it's weird that I won't have caffine after lunch. They all think I must be super sensitive or something!

Thanks guys!  My favorites are Peppermint and Chai, I also found this lovely Vanilla Chai but cant drink it in the evening because it has caffeine.  The lastest I posted about was Celestial Seasonings Bengal Spice...caffeine free and its so yummy!  One sugar and no milk in any tea for me.  And like MrsPink and Anne Im a dark roast coffee drinker in the AM.

Oh and something hubs loves to do in the summer, is brew a huge pot of peppermint tea, let it cool then throw it in the blender with some ice and sugar.  Its so tasty and refreshing!! ;)

Yeah, what's up with people having tea with their dinner or right before bed?!

I just bought (online) some decaf vanilla chai! I haven't tried it yet, but will let you know how it is. Chai rocks! ;D

I can't have any caffeine, so am slightly restricted in my tea choices. I like it strong with milk and no sugar (like a lot of you). I drink ordinary breakfast tea, Earl Grey or Orange Pekoe as a rule (all decaf).

I'll admit, it seems a bit daft... but I just love a good strong cup of tea (or 2 or 3 lol) after dinner.  I guess it's kind of like how smokers like a ciggie after a meal.

My tea of choice is Yorkshire... strong strong strong.  No milk, 2 sweetners (usually splenda).  Mmmmm.

Funny thing is... I turned my ex onto Yorkshire tea while we were married.  I usually have friends/family coming from the UK bring me a resupply.  I currently have 2 unopened boxes that I doubt I will touch before I make the leap across the pond in July.  He actually had the nerve to ask me if he could have it.  My mom was outraged saying "the nerve of him... he does NOT get custody of the tea"  lmao.  Gotta love her ;)

Ok, maybe I am a bit picky seeing as I work at Whittards and now have learned soooo much about tea.  I won't touch Tetley's, PG Tips, or Typhoo.  If I cant' have Whittards, I will choose Twinnings as I know the quality that goes into them.  But I tend to drink tea more based on why I need to drink it.

I drink a medium traditional tea in the morning. (China, green, or white tea)

I prefer a green tea if I feel I need something a bit more healthier.

Orange Pekoe or Ceylon if I want ice tea

Peppermint - after dinner as it relieves mild indegestion and helps settle the stomach.

Camomile - as it's a mild sedative and calms the nerves

Roobois-  because it's good for IBS

Lemon, Ginger, and Echinacea when I am feeling ill as Echinacea boosts the immune system and has anti-viral properties, lemon has a good anti-bacterial agent and ginger stimulates circluation.

Nettle, Fennel and Aloe Vera because it helps to remove toxins, nourish the skin

Rose, vanilla, and hibiscus because it helps balance the nerous system and assist a woman's natural cycle.

Sorry, maybe that was TOO much information! :)
