Recent renewal of US passport through US Embassy in London

I'm not sure if this topic should be here on in "Travel", but I'm putting it here for now.

I just renewed my US passport using the Secure Mail Services pick up & delivery sevice between my office here in Oxford and the US Embassy in London.  The entire process took exactly 3 weeks.  My new US passport arrived this morning, after having the application and my old passport picked up by SMS exactly 3 weeks ago this morning.  For just 19 Pounds over the passport renewal cost, this was a great deal compared to making my way in and out of London to deal with the embassy in person.

I just thought I'd share my experience with everybody here.  It's great to be able to report that everything worked as it should have!

I too just posted and received my new US passport.  I live in London and sent it via Royal Mail 'Special Delivery' and it got back to me it two weeks. No problem, no hassle.

two weeks, cool!  Hope mine comes back that fast.  Sent it Special Delivery Saturday afternoon after the last pickup so it's supposed to get there Tuesday.
