To Facebook or not to Facebook - that is the question?

I've had several people wanting me to join, but I'm a bit of a Luddite and just think - well what do I DO with Facebook exactly?  Still it'd be nice to see people's photos & such.

Hmmmmm.  I'm so wordy, not very photography, and like I need another thing to waste time online with?

I absolutely *love* facebook.  Honestly, it works much much better for me than Live Journal.  LJ for keeping in touch with my UK friends, US friends and beyond.  Mrs. R if you join up and don't like it you can always delete your account.  I have a feeling that you will like it, though.

Yay for deciding to go with beccajanestclair!  My username is saira.longden, in case anyone's interested  :D

I was skeptical about Facebook at first, but I really love it.  I've been able to re-establish contact with some people I haven't seen in years, and I feel really close to them.  Plus, since my friends are scattered all over the world, it's the only thing that holds us all together.  I agree with Andee, Mrs R, you should give it a try.

Mrs R, I was like you for a long time-until a few months ago.  I had a high school friend contact me through Classmates, and ask if I was on Facebook.  Then two friends that I email asked the same thing.  I thought, what the heck, and joined.  I had been on it about two years ago, but didn't see the point and deleted my account.
I'm hooked now!  I've been in touch with people that I never thought I would be able to locate.  As a result I've renewed friendships long dormant.  I'm selective about who becomes my friend though...for me it is quality rather than quantity.  There are games on there as well. I have friends that are heavily into FarmTown and Bejewelled.
While I have UK-Y listed as one of my pages, I do not want to give my UK-Y name on Facebook.  It's just me being weird, but I don't want to reveal TOO much information.  While I have pictures of my girls up, I don't use their names...just the first letter of their name.

I was the same, I think a lot of Facebook is "oooh look how many friends I have" which is just pathetic imo , but at the same time I have got in contact with people who's presence I was missing, as long as you're selective about your friends and what info you share, facbook is a good tool.

I was really anti-facebook for a long time.  I never used MySpace and I liked hanging out on LJ....but then I decided to give it a go, and I like it way better than MySpace! I've found so many old friends from HS who I never thought I'd hear from again, people from my old church in NJ....and Tim's sister and I got close via Facebook before she and I even met!

You should join up! Anyway, you can catch up on what everyone you know is doing in about 5 minutes!  :P You don't need to spend much time on there if you have other stuff to do. Try it and see!

'Tis done.  I've friended a number of folks, but if you're not among them & would perhaps like to be, please send me a PM.  :)
